Petit hPetit h is just the sort of initiative you expect from a brand like Hermès. Everything is thought through to the tiniest detail – and that includes the waste material. Luxury materials don’t stop being a luxury just because they are an off cut, something the artisans at the petit h atelier know only too well. Each day, they are challenged to create useful and beautiful accessories using leather that has been discarded from the main production line. No material is considered unusable and every piece is dependent on the day’s remnants. Just as cooking with leftovers often results in the best tasting dishes, so too the extra care and ingenuity required to make something precious out of scrap material makes for some truly magical – and unique – results.
